Today we drove to Everglade City in hopes to seeing some alligator. We took a trip on one of “Captain Doug’s” airboat into the everglades with Captain Jay as our tour guide.
Alligators live in fresh/saltwater and with the rainfall being way below average, the gators are scarce. Unfortunately, we did not see the gators but Jay did make our trip memorable, by taking us through very narrow channels, providing us with some history and inviting a pelican onto the boat by whistling. The pelican posed like he wanted us to take pictures of him and we did. Wild boar were brought over by the Spaniards for food and a still present today in the Everglades
