April 12, 2006 - Savannah, GA

Left for Savannah, GA, stayed at the Biltmore RV Park. As we were driving to the RV Park we came across “Tin Cup” driving range. Not sure if this is the location where Tin Cup was actually filmed, but the driving range is set up exactly like the scene in the movie. I do have a picture but am unable to locate at this time.

We drove into town to take a tour by trolley. Since we got there so late, we took a 90 minute tour, which gave us an overview of the town. Our tickets were also good for the next day, where we took a trolley that allowed on and off privileges all day. Savannah is filled with so much history we could have spent a week there. The town is laid out using a grid system that grew to a total of 21 squares, which are maintained by the city.

Neither the state nor city owns any of Savannah’s historic buildings. These buildings are bought by private parties and have to be restored to their historic state.
