April 19, 2006 - Memphis, TN

We are now in Memphis, TN. We stayed at Memphis-Graceland RV Park which is across the street from Graceland and behind Heartbreak Hotel (both within walking distance). After setting Taylor in his spot, we took a shuttle to Sun Studios. Sun Studios is the birth place of Rock N Roll. Here is a great URL regarding the history of the studio (http://www.rockabillyhall.com/SunStudios1.html). It is really too much for me to put in this blog. We toured the studio, stood in the spot where Elvis Presley recorded his first record and marveled over photos of other famous artist who have recorded with Sun.

"The Fab 4" (Do you recognize them?)

After our tour of Sun Studio, the shuttle took us to downtown Beale St, which is home of the Blues. We walked Beale St, felt and listened to the blues in the town.

They even have their own walk of fame.

The tour ended and returned us to Heartbreak Hotel. We walked through the hotel, had a drink and some popcorn.

Our RV Park recommended Marlowe’s Restaurant for dinner. So, we gave them a try. They offer FREE round trip rides to their restaurant in a pink Cadillac.

The dinner was great. We split a slab of pork ribs, which came with potato salad, beans and these delicious dinner rolls that were fried, they were yummy.
