Our last full day at the Villafuerte’s

We woke up this morning to very bright and sunny skies. We took advantage of the good weather. It was still very cold. I think the high today was 54 degrees. In the morning Louis and Maria took us to Old Scottsdale for a quick tour of the town before our tee time at the Lone Tree Golf Course. On the way there, we saw the snow on the mountains. Louis and Maria haven’t seen snow on the mountains since they moved here in 2003.

Louis, John and I arrived at Lone Tree Golf Course, to be told by the starter that several holes have casual water and carts on path only. This was due to the rain the day before. Our tee time was at 2:30pm, which allowed us to play 15 holes, before it got very cold. The course was playing slow. I don’t think even the locals where very happy where there balls were landing “casual water”. As for our group, we ALL played very well for the difficult conditions.

Louis and Maria took us out to a messy dinner at Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que. Oh yeah, this place has great ribs. They are “Ribalicious”. You can eat them “Naked” and keep your clothes on. These are some of the saying in the restaurant. We highly recommend this place. It’s no problem to split an order and fill your appetite. Oh, and you have to try their Bread Pudding. Excellent!!! Best I have ever had.

We would like to thank Maria and Louis for welcoming us into their new home with their new baby Natalie. Tomorrow morning we are off to visit our Maui friends who live in Goodyear, AZ.
